I am a big fan of social networks, especially Facebook and Twitter. I use them frequently for business and am particularly impressed with the success of these two snapshot exchange tools and the opportunities they provide.

So, I was not surprised to read this week that more and more companies use these commercial social networks to reach their customers. For example, if you write on your Facebook "profile" page that you are looking for the best deals for holidays in Cuba, you will receive messages from travel agencies offering packages.
But are these sales techniques taking over? The news: Companies are exploring the possibility of sending messages on a grocery store client’s smartphone (i.e.: the iPhone) as they walk through aisles, passing in front of their products. The president of the Quebec office of Consumer Impact Marketing, Jacques Gravel, said in the newspaper ‘La Presse’, on Monday, July 19, "I believe so strongly in social media. It complements what we do. We are considering this aspect at this time"...
